TABLETmedia Completes Interoperability With Nortel MCS Servers

TABLETmedia, Inc. announces today that it has completed interoperability tests with Nortel [NYSE/TSX: NT] Multimedia Communication Server 5200 (MCS 5200) system. TABLETmedia's iFon is the first mobile soft phone client to formally receive Nortel's Registered Product status, thus offering mobile voice (VoIP), videoconferencing and messaging to Nortel MCS 5200 customers and users.

The MCS 5200 is a carrier-grade SIP-based system which seamlessly integrates voice, video, messaging, collaboration and presence, enabling service providers to deliver hosted multimedia communication services to create new revenue-generating opportunities. These next generation multimedia services enhance the ability for both enterprise and consumer end-users to communicate and collaborate more effectively and efficiently.
The results of the interoperability tests are included in the latest release of TABLETmedia's iFon, the most advanced integrated soft client for mobile devices. iFon is a Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) based application for on Microsoft Windows Mobile devices with either single-mode (WiFi only) or dual-mode (GSM/CDMA and WiFi) wireless connectivity. iFon enables voice (VoIP), 1- or 2-way videoconferencing, text messaging and also supports integrated GSM/CDMA voice dialing and SMS messaging.

On dual-mode devices iFon users benefit from a single interface to place voice calls or send text messages, while the software automatically chooses the most appropriate wireless network.
