TABLETmedia ANNOUNCES MOBILE VOIP, VIDEOCONFERENCING and P2P WALKIE TALKIE FOR MARVELL® PXA3xx APPLICATIONS PROCESSORS
November 29, 2006, San Francisco, California:
TABLETmedia, Inc. announced today that its iFon and iTalkie communication clients for PDAs, PDA/phones and smartphones have been optimized for the new Marvell®PXA3xx processors. iFon is the most advanced SIP softphone capable of supporting VoIP, videoconferencing and messaging on single and dual-mode handsets, while iTalkie is a groundbreaking enterprise P2P solution for walkie-talkie and point-to-point voice.
Resource-limited mobile devices pose a challenge to real-time communications. TABLETmedia has worked closely with Marvell to bring low-latency audio and high-quality video to the new Marvell PXA3xx 624MHz processors. "Thanks to the new processor, we are pleased to announce that our products are achieving a significant overall system level performance boost while also delivering 30 fps video. The new Marvell processor architecture also enables us to offer more advanced H.264 compression technology and enhance our communication capabilities." said Alessandro Gatti, President and CEO of TABLETmedia, Inc. "This is particularly helpful when supporting cellular or local broadband networks or to limit the required processor speed. In addition, particularly in enterprise and vertical markets applications, there are stringent requirements to meet long hours of operation (talk- and standby-time), which we are now able to further extend through proprietary algorithms and Marvell PXA3xx processor optimizations".
"The optimized solutions from TABLETmedia demonstrate how the new Marvell PXA3xx processor is ideally suited for advanced IP-based communications services" said Gary Forni, Director of Platform Enabling, Cellular and Handheld Business Unit, Communications and Consumer Business Group at Marvell. "We are very pleased that the high performance of the Marvell PXA320 processor and the optimized iFon and iTalkie client software by TABLETMedia enables excellent video and voice quality with low-latency for phones. This combination helps address the needs of customers seeking VoIP and videoconferencing on mobile devices."
Service providers have been searching for new services that bring new revenue opportunities on their mobile devices, well beyond basic voice, messaging, personal information management (PIM) and streamed media. Interactive video greatly enhances the effectiveness of phone calls bringing new revenue opportunities through services such as video portals, video voicemail and video ringback tones. With smartphones offering more advanced capabilities at a time when new wireless data technologies provide low-latency broadband connections, TABLETmedia expects a natural evolution of mobile devices to deliver users higher value and more effective communications. Having reached a new level of performance, TABLETmedia's converged applications are able to exceed market requirements and once again raise the bar for truly innovative solutions.

About TABLETmedia, Inc.
TABLETmedia, Inc. is the leader of next-generation IP-based communication solutions for mobile platforms distributed to service providers, manufacturers and integrators. Using advanced integration, communication and compression technologies, TABLETmedia was the first company in the world to turn PDAs into ITU-T H.323 and IETF SIP standards-based wireless telephones and videoconferencing devices operating on any type of wireless packet data networks. On dual-mode devices iFon users benefit from a single interface to place voice calls or send text messages, while the software automatically chooses the most appropriate wireless network. TABLETmedia iTalkie enables businesses to transparently add zero-setup paging and direct voice into their workflow, by replacing traditional walkie-talkie functionality while adding more capabilities. TABLETmedia's products enable service providers and enterprises to deploy previously unfeasible converged mobile voice, video and messaging services. Wireless VoIP (or VoWLAN) greatly improves employee productivity and efficiency, while reducing costs by simply extending the existing corporate telephony infrastructure to mobile devices such as PDA-based phones.
