Press Release
TABLETmedia DELIVERS VOICE SOFTWARE TO NEW TOSHIBA PDA DEVICES

October 27, 2003, Irvine, California, and San Francisco, California. TABLETmedia, Inc. announced today that its voice technology solution will be used in the new Pocket PC e400 and e800 Series Pocket PC devices from Toshiba Digital Products Division (DPD), a division of Toshiba America Information Systems, Inc. This new solution will provide Pocket PC users the ability to record up to 18 hours of high quality audio on a PDA without the use of external memory.
"This opportunity allows TABLETmedia to deliver a product answering the requirements of those Toshiba customers who have been looking for an advanced "digital dictaphone" able to create clips that maintain interoperability with their desktops or notebooks and that be easily exchanged via email, beamed to other devices through the infrared port, or exchanged via memory cards" says Alessandro Gatti, President and of TABLETmedia, Inc.. "This is particularly convenient for Toshiba's customer base of mobile users and it further stresses the increased requirement of integration of multimedia capabilities on mobile devices".
"As a leader in mobility, Toshiba continues to implement new technology to further expand the capabilities of our PDA products as valuable productivity tools," said Carl Pinto, director of product marketing, Toshiba DPD. "Voice recording software represents a convenient tool to capture data while on-the-go and demonstrates a commitment from Toshiba to collaborate with industry-leading companies like TABLETmedia to deliver productivity gains for our customers."
With PDAs growing more important with mobile professionals, a natural opportunity exists to integrate a high-performance voice recording solution. The TOSHIBA Voice Recorder, developed by TABLETmedia for TOSHIBA, allows Pocket PC users one-touch recording and playback of high-quality compressed 22,050Hz and 11,025Hz audio clips. These clips can also be transferred and played on any Microsoft Windows (95/98/Me/NT/2000/XP) based Personal Computer via Microsoft's Windows Media Player. In addition, users can easily change, even while recording, the sensitivity of the microphone and adapt it for close-up interviews or conference rooms meetings or even customize it as needed. When using external memory cards the total recording length can be further increased: for example, a 512 MB memory card can store an additional 60 hours of audio.
