Kelyan Lab Introduces iFon™

Orvieto, April 18 2002: Kelyan Lab, one of the major Italian suppliers of mobile business services, announces the distribution of a solution to bring real-time audio and video communications over GPRS and Wireless LAN to personal digital assistants (PDAs).

The solution, jointly developed with US-based company TABLETmedia, is compliant to international standards (ITU-T H.323) and transforms a PocketPC in a mobile videoconferencing system for mobile-to-mobile and mobile-to fixed station multimedia communication. All is needed to run iFon is a PocketPC PDA with an optional camera, connected to wireless networks via GPRS, Wireless 802.11b Bluetooth or UTMS adapters. With iFon and the Kelyan Lab Wireless network infrastructure, it is also possible to deliver high-speed video-on-demand, voice over IP and web browsing services.
